On Saturday, March 12, 2016, 7:30pm, at Makawao Union Church, Baldwin Ave. (www.makawaounionchurch.org), Ebb & Flow Arts presents Duo Diorama - Minghuan Xu, violin, and Winston Choi, piano. (www.duodiorama.com) The event is free admission. A pre-concert discussion is 6:30pm. “Choi is an intellectual when it comes to music. It manifests itself in his handling of musical foms and of composers’ styles and wishes. Xu is spontaneous, rhapsodic, and romatic. Together it is a wonderful dynamic.” (Victor Yampolsky, conductor) Their program will include Elliott Carter’s “Duo”, Claude Debussy’s “Sonata in G minor”, Stuart Folse’s “Perperikon”, and others. “We are thrilled to present Duo Diorama for the third time,” says E&FA Executive Director, Robert Pollock. “Their previous concerts here were sensational, and drew full houses,” he adds.
