A program of all-American 20th & 21st century music, featuring Carter’s early choral work, the Harmony of Morning, set to poetry by Mark van Doren. Composed for women’s voices and chamber orchestra (winds, strings & piano) in 1944. Also on the program, music by Christina Whitten Thomas, Sally Lamb McCune, Paul Halley, and a set of Shaker Songs arranged by Kevin Siegfried.
